DAY ON JAPANESE MARQUETRY ORGANIZED BY THE EMBASSY OF JAPAN

The Embassy of Japan organized a workshop of Japanese handicraft on traditional Japanese marquetry at the Academy on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, led by Mr. TSUYUKI, specialist of HAKONE traditional marquetry.
The program of this event began with a lecture on traditional Japanese marquetry, its history, wood work, its works as well as the collaborations with artists from other fields. Afterwards, the students of the painted wood and carved wood courses of studys benefited from a 60-minute workshop on this technique.
