The mosque has two basements, much of which has been converted into ablution halls (one for men and one for women). The ablution hall houses 45 marble fountains that represent lotus flowers and a total of 600 taps all around. The arrangement of these rooms allows the many faithful to perform the rite of ablution in better conditions and to move easily between the ablution hall and the prayer hall.
