Hammams and swimming pools

The Hammams are built in the basement of the courtyard of the Mosque, on an area of 6.000 m2. They are designed to accommodate 1,400 people equally divided between women and men. It is accessed by an enormous staircase decorated with green marble columns and friezes finely encrusted with Zellije.

From the reception room succeeds a series of hammam and columns leading to the locker room. Each hammam consists, in the pure Moroccan tradition, of three communicating bathrooms, each covered by an openwork dome and coated with marl.

Part of the Hammam has been equipped with heated swimming pools for women and men like therapeutic baths.
